topic suggestion

what if we talked about the history of rug making ?
the meaning in the afghan culture etc, and possibly make reference to some chapters in the book. i guess somewhere in the book they talked about carpets and rugs. well, that is if we are aiming at a not so political coverage of afghanistan. though it can be equally boring.
here's the link http://www.afghan-web.com/culture/afghan_rugs.html

after wracking my brain for a couple of days, i've decided that elephantiasis on parasites is an infinitely more interesting subject on which we could do a presentation.

anyhow, really, i haven't come up with a wow-how-brilliant idea so far, which makes me believe it'll never happen. oh no, wait, i just had an idea. what if we got testemonies from regular people who were born / have lived / have spent a lot of time in afghanistan? to have a different approach on these matters. i mean, all we see and all we know is what we're shown in the media. what if we tried to rebuff some of today's mainstream ideas about not only afghanistan but the middle east culture in general? (yes, i do realise it's not in the middle east, but religiously, politically, geopolitically and in terms of culture, it SO is the middle east. right? yeah.)

feeback? oh wait i'd better post this on the blog otherwise someone might miss it. yay.
